Burger King teased a mysterious tie-up with PlayStation in a cryptic tweet, ahead of an apparent official announcement on Thursday, October 15.

Burger King tweeted a video of its mascot opening one of the fast food chain’s paper bags. The contents of the bag shone a blue light into the King’s face, not unlike the glow PlayStation consoles emit.

The bag also played a short sound as soon as the bag was opened, leading to speculation this could be the upcoming PlayStation 5 (PS5) console’s start-up sound.

The sound was previously heard at the official PS5 reveal event, per IGN.

Burger King captioned the Tweet: “do Whopper sandwiches normally do this?” It was immediately retweeted by PlayStation, whose retweet now has more than 50,000 likes.

As The Burger King walked off screen, “10/15” flashed up.

One Twitter user joked that PlayStation may be selling the PS5 for the price of a Whopper.

Others suggested that Burger King may be reviving King Games. The fast food outlet launched a series of three Xbox games in 2006 which have since gained cult status.

The October 15 date could also just be a teaser for a competition to win a console by buying food from Burger King, others have pointed

Apple teases Oct. 13 iPhone event with invite tagline, ‘Hi, Speed’

Oct. 6 (UPI) — Apple announced Tuesday a second fall special event on Oct. 13, teasing it in an invitation with the tagline, “Hi, Speed.”

The “Hi, Speed” tagline for the event streamed from Apple Park at 10 a.m. PDT next Tuesday hints at the iPhone 12 with 5G capabilities, marking the first iPhone to connect to the new, ultra-fast wireless network.

Similarly, ahead of its September virtual event, which included the latest Apple Watch, among other new items, the technology company teased the event with a tagline in its invitation, “Time Flies.”

Apple is expected to unveil four new iPhone 12 models at the October event, including a new 5.4-inch iPhone 12, which would be smaller than the iPhone 11 Pro, a 6.1-inch iPhone 12 Max, a 6.1-inch iPhone 12 Pro, and a 6.7-inch iPhone 12 Pro Max, which would be the largest iPhone ever.

The 5.4-inch iPhone 12 and 6.1-inch iPhone 12 Max are expected to feature dual-lens camera set-ups on the back, and the iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone Pro Max will feature triple-lens camera arrays on the back and all-new LiDAR Scanner, which measures distance to surrounding objects up to around 16 feet away.

Apple is planning on a staggered release schedule for the iPhone 12, according to reports, which means some models could potentially not be available until November.

Along with the iPhone 12, some other technology Apple could also possibly announce includes Apple’s over-ear headphones that have been rumored for some time, AirTag item trackers, a smaller and cheaper HomePod, and a new Apple TV and Siri Remote.

Billionaire Elon Musk Teases IPO For Starlink, SpaceX’s Satellite Internet Business

Topline

Elon Musk on Monday hinted at his plans to take SpaceX’s space internet venture, Starlink, public in several years when revenue growth is “smooth and predictable” as the firm, which eventually aims to provide broadband around the world, is servicing towns in Washington ravaged by wildfires along the U.S. West Coast.

Key Facts

The Tesla CEO revealed his plans on Twitter, saying small retail investors will “get top priority” when the company is listed: “You can hold me to it.”

Investors may be waiting a while — Musk said he will only take the company public in several years when revenue growth is smooth and predictable, adding: “Public market does *not* like erratic cash flow.”.

Last year, Musk said he believed Starlink would be an important revenue stream for SpaceX, with ambitions to provide high-speed internet around the world.

It comes as the company is assisting the Washington Military Department’s Emergency Management Division as it responds to towns devastated by wildfires, providing internet access to emergency responders and the public.

In February, SpaceX President Gwynne Shotwell told investors of the company’s plans to spin out Starlink into a separate business and take the company public.

Key Background

Starlink is SpaceX’s ambitious internet-from-space project, involving a constellation of thousands of satellites that will deliver high speed internet access across the globe. SpaceX is optimistic about Starlink’s future. The company says it is already seeing an “extraordinary demand” from potential customers for its satellite broadband service, CNBC reported, with nearly 700,000 individuals in the US alone. Starlink’s website says it is targeting the US and Canada in 2020 and rapidly expanding “to near global coverage” by 2021.

Both Phones Coming] OnePlus Nord Teases Product Launch, New Smartphone Coming?

UPDATE: OnePlus is not getting ready to launch just one new Nord smartphone, but two of them, it seems. Max J. responded to us on Twitter, confirming that both Snapdragon 600 and 400 series phones are coming.

ORIGINAL ARTICLE: A New OnePlus Nord smartphone could be on the way. The company has teased a new product launch it seems, via its Instagram profile. This is not exactly a straightforward teaser, though.

The company shared an image on Instagram. That image contains the company’s logo, which is black-colored, on a white background. Surrounding it, you’ll see a number of black lines from the edges of the image.

New OnePlus Nord smartphone seems to be coming, at least one of them

Along with the image, the company used the ‘ComingSoon’ hashtag. So, something is coming, and if we had to guess, we’d say it’s a new smartphone. Several new OnePlus Nord devices got teased, so it makes sense.

Now, several OnePlus Nord smartphones got rumored in the last couple of weeks and months, so… we’re not really sure which one to expect. Two Snapdragon 600 series phones were mentioned, and the same goes for a Snapdragon 460-powered device.

OnePlus could, of course, be teasing more than one smartphone here. We could see both a Snapdragon 600 and 400 series devices to become official at the same time.

Knowing the company, it will start teasing the arrival of that device, or devices, soon. The OnePlus 8T is scheduled to launch on October 14, so who knows, maybe one of those phones (or both of them) will arrive at the very same time.

The company does not have a habit of launching two different classes of phones at the same time, though. So, it’s more likely we’ll see the OnePlus 8T, alongside a number

Ford Debuts Sculpture In China That Teases Future Design Language

Ford At 2020 Auto China

Are those fins on the sides?

At 2020 Auto China, Ford has a sculpture that previews its future design language. The company calls the look “Progressive Energy In Strength.”

The sculpture depicts a vehicle in profile that tapers to a point at the back. The front end is muscular and wouldn’t appear too out of place on a new interpretation of the Mustang. The long hood flows back to a sleek, cockpit-like passenger compartment. Its teardrop shape creates the flowing line that creates the roof and leads to the rear.

A fascinating aspect is the fin-like shape along the rear flank. It somewhat evokes the styling of cars from the 1950s and early ’60s where big fins are a major styling element. Maybe Ford is looking to revive a little of this aesthetic.

The Ford China Design Center will open in October. It’ll feature Chinese designs that will have a goal of bringing the “Progressive Energy in Strength” look into production.

Ford is also using 2020 Auto China to debut the Mustang Mach-E for that market. “Every Mustang reflects the evolution of Ford’s innovative spirit and Mustang Mach-E will be a dark horse in China’s high-end all-electric vehicle market,” said Anning Chen, the president and CEO of Ford Greater China.

Ford uses this show to highlight its Sync+ infotainment software that’s specifically for the Chinese market. It supports over-the-air updates and vehicle-to-infrastructure communication.

Electrification From Ford:

In addition, the company is showing off the future by previewing its connectivity and cellular vehicle-to-everything technology. The innovation is currently in road testing with a goal of reducing road congestion and traffic efficiency. The first production vehicles with this feature should be on sale in China in 2021.
