Build a proper gaming PC for under $900 with these Prime Day deals

Building your own PC from scratch isn’t cheap, but it doesn’t have to be expensive, especially when we’re looking at PC components discounted with Prime Day deals. We’ve put together a gaming PC build that costs less than $900. It’s a capable build too, rocking a quad-core processor and enough graphics performance for solid 1080p and even some 1440p gaming.

While this is a more budget-focused build, there are deals that allow you to put together a more powerful PC for less, but with Black Friday just around the corner, it may be worth holding out on a component or two if you really want a specific part.

Give PC gaming a classic flavour with these retro controller Prime Day Lightning Deals

Nintendo has some of the biggest mascots in videogames, from classics like Mario and The Legend of Zelda’s Link to new ones like the Octolings from Splatoon, but the real characters have always been the company’s signature controllers. As PC gamers, we often forget about controllers unless they’re a flight stick to complete our Star Wars: Squadrons loadouts or fighting sticks to dominate the best fighting games out there, but nostalgia can be a powerful thing.

Whether you switched from consoles and want a blast from the past or simply want the authenticity of retro gaming, you can now get miadore’s N64 controller and iNNEXT’s SNES gamepads cheaper than ever in the UK. Both are USB-based and will work with emulators on various Windows, Raspberry Pis, and even Mac OS X. You don’t even need to bother with downloading a driver, as they’re entirely plug-and-play.

Since these are Lightning Deals, they won’t last as long as the other discounts Amazon Prime Day has to offer and are limited in stock, so you’ll want to be quick.

Those of you that aren’t old enough to remember the absurdity of the N64 controller might struggle to figure out the logistics of its three-pronged approach, and we want you to know that you’re not alone. It took a lot of juggling to get things just right and we’ve never seen anything like it since.

Buy now

If you want to try your hand at it, miadore’s N64 controller is 33% off right now, dropping the price from £17.99 to just £11.99 until 20:50 BST or stock runs out. Even the lettering on the buttons resembles Nintendo’s official pad from back in the day.

The SNES is even older, predating analogue joysticks making it to home consoles, but just look at the colourful buttons!

Luckily, there are still a ton of deals on games, gaming gear and accessories available over the next two days that are worth a look, including top Switch games marked down to $40 on Amazon.

There are also some great offers from Target, Best Buy and Newegg when it comes to Amazon Prime Day for gamers. We’re keeping an eye out for the best deals on all things gaming and will keep this list up to date with offers as soon as they arrive. Check out the latest below.

Several popular Switch games are on sale via Amazon right now. Here’s the best we’ve seen.

Lots of Razer gaming gear is on sale at Amazon right now, and this is a great price for a very high-end mechanical gaming keyboard. Green, yellow and orange switch versions are available at different levels of discount — basically defining how “clicky” you want the keys to be.

Dell

Here’s your Prime Day splurge. Alienware’s massive 21:9 (really, really widescreen) curved screen display, with a 3,440×1,440 resolution is down to $850. Original price was $1,200, and you can usually find it for around $1,050 or so.

Corsair

One of the best all-around gaming keyboards, with per-key RGB backlighting and Cherry MX Silver mechanical key switches.

Ubisoft

The next Assassin’s Creed game isn’t even out yet, but you can already knock $10 off for current-gen consoles.

‘The Last Of Us 2’ Drops To $40 For Prime Day, Is PS5 Playable

KEY POINTS

  • “The Last of Us Part II” offers a substantial price drop for Amazon Prime Day
  • Some retailers aside from Amazon are also offering the title for $40
  • “The Last of Us Part II” will be playable on the upcoming PS5 when it launches next month

Naughty Dog’s 2020 hit title “The Last of Us Part II” is on sale for Amazon Prime Day 2020.

An Amazon Prime membership is required for those who want to get “The Last of Us Part II” for just $40, though GameSpot noted that one can get a 30-day free trial to get around that. Other retailers such as Best Buy and Newegg have already matched the $40 pricing, which only benefits the consumers itching to finally get their hands on the title released in June.

Aside from the discounted price, another thing that might make the title more appealing is the fact that “The Last of Us Part II” is also among the backward compatible games for the PlayStation 5, which is set to be released on Nov. 12.

Although Naughty Dog has yet to announce if the graphics are also expected to make a significant leap on the more powerful PlayStation 5, just having access to the popular survival action-adventure title could be enough for interested buyers.

To be clear, since the physical copy of “The Last of Us Part II” is on sale, only the standard edition PS5 priced at $499 that can play it. The all-digital edition that is selling at $399 will not be able to play the game.

It has mostly been a successful few months for “The Last of Us Part II” as it immediately sold 4 million copies during its opening weekend. That made the sequel the fastest-selling PlayStation 4 exclusive game globally.
